Redondo Beach police arrested a 24-year-old Los Angeles woman Aug. 19 after linking her to two overnight burglaries at South Bay Hardware on Artesia Boulevard in June.

The woman was identified as one of the suspects in the consecutive break-ins at the store, located at 2411 Artesia Blvd., Patch reported. Detectives served a search warrant in the 1000 block of Cedar Avenue in Long Beach the same day and recovered evidence believed to be connected to the burglaries, according to the Redondo Beach Police Department.

The first break-in was discovered the morning of June 12. Officers responded to the store at about 9:13 a.m. after staff found that two suspects had forced their way inside between 1 and 2 a.m. and fled with merchandise, police said.

The second hit came fast.

Less than 24 hours later, an alarm brought officers back to the same store. Police said suspects forced entry again at about 3:05 a.m. June 13 and burglarized the business a second time.

The Redondo Beach Police Department announced the arrest Aug. 20, one day after the woman was taken into custody. She was being held without bail at the Redondo Beach jail as of that date, according to jail records cited by MyNewsLA. It was not stated whether the Long Beach address where the search warrant was served is her residence.

The department said detectives are investigating the suspect's potential involvement in additional commercial burglaries across Los Angeles and Orange counties. No charges had been announced as of Aug. 31, and no court date has been set. The case has been referred to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for filing consideration.

The gap between the June burglaries and the August arrest suggests an extended investigation. Police have not said whether a second suspect in the break-ins has been identified.
