Patrick Molloy's is filling its summer calendar with live music, DJs, and bingo nights as the Hermosa Beach pub approaches three decades on Pier Plaza. CEO Fiona Fleming, who took over in 2021, has expanded the kitchen's offerings and hired Beverage Director Kevin Jones to overhaul the drink program built around the pub's signature Frozen Irish Coffee.

What's changed under Fleming

Fleming joined Patrick Molloy's in the summer of 2021 during the post-pandemic recovery. In a profile published July 27 by Local Anchor, she described balancing the pub's traditions with modernization as "both the greatest challenge and the most rewarding part of the journey."

The menu now includes gluten-free and vegetarian options alongside pub staples like the Spice Bag. Jones oversees scratch-made infusions behind the bar.

Summer 2026 hours and entertainment

The pub's Instagram page lists summer hours: Wednesday and Thursday 4–11 p.m., Friday and Saturday 4 p.m. to midnight, Sunday noon–8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday are closed. Happy hour runs Wednesday through Friday, 4–7 p.m.

Weekly entertainment includes Thursday Live Music Bingo at 7:30 p.m. and live music or DJs on Friday and Saturday nights starting at 8 p.m. The pub also hosts live music on the pier every Wednesday from 4–7 p.m.

Recent acts have included Dick the Citizen on July 26 and Mom's Millennial Mix dance party on July 25.

Patrick Molloy's is also running a $500 prize drawing for customers who write dish reviews, with the drawing set for August 1.

From biker promenade to beach gathering spot

The pub was founded in 1996 by Bill Bastian, who named it after his son Patrick. Patrick Bastian recalled in a 2012 Patch profile that Pier Plaza was "essentially a biker place, you could drive up and down the promenade." Co-owner Fred Hahn called it "a family-owned business" in that same profile. Both Bastian and Hahn have since died.

The pub helped anchor the plaza's transformation into the pedestrian-friendly stretch it is now, at 50A Pier Ave., steps from the sand and the Strand. Its patio features fire tables and sunset views over the water.
