The South Bay Greek Festival is back for its 61st year, bringing three days of homemade Greek food, live music, and folk dancing to St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church in Redondo Beach from Friday, July 10 through Sunday, July 12.

General admission is $5 at the door. Children under 12 get in free. A $2-off coupon is available on the festival website for entry between noon and 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday only.

The festival runs Friday, July 10 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, July 11 from noon to 10 p.m., and Sunday, July 12 from noon to 9 p.m. at 722 Knob Hill Avenue.

Church volunteers prepare all the food from scratch using recipes from across the Greek Mediterranean, according to the festival's official website. Outdoor booths serve gyros, grilled lamb chops, souvlaki, calamari, and loukoumathes, golden fried dough puffs soaked in honey-citrus syrup. An indoor dining room offers a full buffet with moussaka, pastitsio, spanakopita, and dolmathes. The pastry table includes multiple versions of baklava, galaktoboureko, and kourabiethes.

The festival's folk dance groups, made up of performers from kindergarten through college age, take the stage each evening at 7 p.m. Greek dance lessons are open to all attendees at 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Father Michael leads guided tours of the church sanctuary throughout each day, covering Byzantine art, architecture, and Orthodox Christian tradition. Friday evening features a Byzantine Chant performance at 7 p.m. and an iconography presentation at 8 p.m.

A kids' activity wristband gives children all-day access to a dedicated play area on Saturday and Sunday.

Tickets can also be purchased in advance at sbgreekfestival.com.
