Families new to Manhattan Beach Unified School District can meet Superintendent Kim Linz at a series of welcome receptions at Tin Roof Bistro in Manhattan Village.

The Manhattan Beach Education Foundation is hosting the annual gatherings at the restaurant, located at 3500 N. Sepulveda Blvd. District leadership, MBEF representatives and PTA members plan to answer questions and help newcomers get oriented, according to the foundation. Complimentary appetizers and refreshments will be served.

Space is limited.

Families should RSVP at mbef.org/new-parent-welcome-receptions, where the full schedule of reception dates is posted. Questions can be sent to [email protected].

MBEF supports Manhattan Beach public schools through fundraising and community programs. The foundation also partnered with Bacio di Latte on Aug. 26 for a fundraiser donating 20 percent of in-store sales to the district's schools.
