Runners registered for the 49th Annual Manhattan Beach 10K can start picking up their bibs Oct. 1 at Village Runner ahead of the sold-out race Oct. 3.
The race, which sold out for the fourth consecutive year, begins at 7:30 a.m. at 3rd Street and Valley Drive and 4th Street and Ardmore Avenue. It finishes near the Manhattan Beach Pier.
Bib pickup
Advance bib pickup runs two days this year at Village Runner's back parking lot, 1840 N. Sepulveda Blvd. in Manhattan Beach, according to the race's official logistics guide:
- Oct. 1: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Oct. 2: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Runners should have their assigned bib number or race confirmation email ready. They can also pick up bibs for family and friends with the other person's information. Dunkin' will hand out Munchkins during pickup while supplies last.
Runners who skip advance pickup can grab their bibs race morning at 2nd Street and Ardmore Avenue, on the greenbelt, from 6:30 to 7:15 a.m. Organizers recommend arriving before 7 a.m. Questions can go to the race hotline at (424) 260-6548 or [email protected].
Family Teams and race-day details
The Family Team entry deadline is 7 p.m. Oct. 2. There is no fee. Online registrants must pick up their bibs at Village Runner before the deadline to complete entry. Teammates do not need to race together; scoring is based on combined times.
Streets along the course close at 6 a.m. Parking is limited. The race committee recommends biking, getting dropped off or using a ride-share app. No shuttle is provided, and the race is not affiliated with the Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair shuttle.
There is no bag check or sweat storage available.
The finish line closes around 9:30 a.m. Runners who cross after that are not guaranteed an official time. Late starters are also not guaranteed a time.
Post-race expo
After crossing the finish line, runners can head to the upper parking lots above the Manhattan Beach Pier for the post-race expo. The race FAQ lists more than 25 vendors offering complimentary food, drinks, physical therapy and massage. A photo booth is set up in the South Lot. The North Lot has race results and the awards stage.
The first 1,000 online registrants are guaranteed their finisher tee shirt size and style at the expo. For everyone else, sizes are first come, first served.
Results are also posted via a QR code on each runner's bib. Final results are posted Oct. 7.
Course records and prizes
The USATF-certified course record for men is 29:20, set by Arturs Medveds in 2024. The women's record is 34:10, set by D'Ann Arthur in 2014. A $1,000 cash prize goes to anyone who breaks a course record. The overall male and female winners each receive $250.
The nonprofit race has donated more than $825,000 to community fitness causes and scholarships since its first running in October 1978. About 20 volunteer committee members organize the event. Runners who have participated in every race since 1978 belong to the P.I.E.R. Group (Participated In Every Race) and wear distinctively colored shirts on race day.
